To elevate energy awareness and advocacy in the Black and underrepresented communities, foster the development of members, and inspire the next generation of energy leaders.
Eligibility and Selection Criteria
Minimum GPA: 3.0
Unweighted academic average of B or better (3.0 on a 4.0 scale)
Graduating high school senior who intends to enroll next semester in an accredited college or university
Pursuing a major in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields (STEM)
Underrepresented groups (African Americans, Hispanics, or Native Americans)
2–3-minute video answering required questions
Recommendation from school representative
Though founded to address funding inequities in education resources for African Americans, AABE-administered scholarships are open to all ethnicities; the great majority of recipients are still African American. It provides scholarships to students attending its member colleges as well as to those going elsewhere.
Qualifications
Applicant must be a graduating high school senior.
Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 High School GPA.
Applicant must be majoring in business, one of the physical sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics fields (STEM) in preparation for a career in the energy sector.
